Why is there a ramen review on your gaming backlog clearing blog?

Because I feel like it.

What makes you qualified to review ramen?

Nothing at all!

Why are you talking to yourself?

Hello everyone, and welcome to my first ever quick instant noodle review. I’ll probably put these up for fun now and again when I try interesting new flavours of instant noodles or similar products.

I’ve been on a bit of an instant noodle kick lately, trying out all kinds of new brands and flavours. I picked up a 5-pack of Samyang’s Hot Chicken Flavour “Ramen” the other day, having heard good things about it from some friends, and today I gave it a shot.

4 things:

  • These instant noodles are freaking delicious, and I love the fact that they throw in a packet of dried seaweed and sesame seeds to add a little extra flair to the meal.
  • I’m pretty picky about instant noodle sizes. I don’t find anything below ~100g to be particularly filling. These ones are a great size at 140g.
  • Holy hell these things are spicy. My mouth was burning the whole time and for a while afterwards.
  • These are a bit more expensive than your everyday ramen, sitting at about $3CAD/packet.

All in all, I’ll definitely be adding these into my regular rotation. They’re a bit more expensive than normal instant noodles, but definitely worth the extra cost.
